Dear Vegas Valley Comic Book Fest 2013, we had a fantastic time hanging out at the Clark County Library!
First things first, it was a cosmic-level of awesome to see so many familiar faces and have a chat (or chats) with you guys at Vegas Valley Comic Book Fest 2013. And I’ve certainly seen plenty of those fancy coupons we we giving out ( yes! ). I hope everyone got down to the signing booths at the end of Artist’s Alley, or made it over to Maximum’s booth to answer trivia questions – like Cosmic’s manager Roland did.
The high point of our day at the library started early with a visit to our booth from Greg Rucka (shoutout to Ghost Austin for grabbing Rucka)! He was kind enough to visit our booth twice for photos – once before the fest started, and a second time around 4 o’clock pm.
Mr. Rucka was also kind enough to sign a sketch by local artist Free (pictured above, with a sweet mullet), who was working at the Cosmic Comics booth relentlessly drawing and giving out free sketches too all the boys and girls in the land. Free was one of the few artists working outdoors that Saturday, as most of the Local Artists Showcase really happened in the Library hall and Artists Alley. There were free sketches, mini-comics, prints, stickers, buttons and all manner of merch in Artists Alley. Also, a shout-out to Free, Valkyrie Komics and Pop Goes the Icon for hanging at the booth with us, and representing the local art scene!
Speaking of shout-outs, we definitely need to shout out to the absolute best (and by best, we mean our favorite) cosplayer at the event: good sir Mystery Science Theater 3000!
Finally, we want to thank each and every one of you guys that came out to support our community; and a special thanks to everyone who participated in the Critical Care Comics donations! This certainly wasn’t our first, and definitely won’t be the last community event you’ll see Cosmic Comics at – Look for us at other community events! Vegas Valley Comic Book Fest, see you next year!
Thanks Again,
~Cosmic Comics! Staff
