Cosmic Ghost Rider Destroys Marvel History #1 Review
Why stop at one parenting fail? Why not take the whole universe with you? That’s what we get with Cosmic Ghost Rider Destroys Marvel History #1.
Cosmic Ghost Rider has been making the rounds around the Marvel Universe. He first appeared in the popular Thanos Wins run, had an insane single series, and most recently joined those rascal Guardians of the Galaxy. Mostly to fart around and annoy everyone, but also to seriously dethrone Thanos and everything he’s become, created, or influenced.
If you hadn’t read Cosmic Ghost Rider’s single series, which I reviewed and highly recommended, first: Shame. Second: Why not? As Cosmic Ghost Rider Destroys Marvel History ties to it directly. You get to see a demented mind try to fix his failures over and over while creating more an more unintentional mayhem. It really is the definition of insanity. Yet, comedy endures.
Marvel heroes destroying or killing the marvel universe are some of my favorite books. Whether it’s Punisher or Deadpool killing the Marvel Universe, I enjoy the “what if” factor of all the books. Cosmic Ghost Rider Destroys Marvel History is a fun and silly way to look back at some of our favorite stories and flip them on their heads. It’s much less “destroys” and more alternatively “creates”. It’s an indifferent and humorous take on how some of the most popular and beloved Marvel history came to be. Most of issue one has to do with the Fantastic Four and how they became fantastic. How Cosmic Ghost Rider couldn’t stop fate even when he was effing with it.
You wanna know who should be to blame though? Uatu the Watcher, that’s who. It’s funny that ol’Cosmic Flamehead is getting coined as “destroyer of history” when this “Watcher” can’t keep his fingers outa the cookie jar. After this however, the Marvel Universe will never be looked at the same way again. Well, at least to the people who read this book. People who don’t read it, they’ll just keep living their lives thinking the Fantastic Four just happened upon some “cosmic rays” by coincidence. Fools.
