“A World Without Gods”
Thor had a good run last year, in my opinion anyways, but with Marvel NOW! shaking things up, the now series with the newest creative team is underway.
Thor is starting a five part series meekly titled, The God Butcher. The first book amply named “A World Without Gods” explains the rest for you. Thor, who doesn’t have enough nice things to say about himself, travels to a world without Gods, rescues them from drought, and then ventures off to find where their Gods have gone. Que stage left, the God Butcher. It’s quite epic really.
Although I’m not a fan of Jason Aaron’s script, I did enjoy his story. It’s a very nice introduction not only to Thor, but to the storyline also. Esad Ribic make’s an impressive showing, nailing an art style I thought was perfect for the God of Thunder, it’s both vintage with an early 70’s and 80’s animation style. I was really digging it.
I’m unsure if the copy of Thor #1 I received had a printing error, two pages, both connected were darker than the other pages with smeared ink. I thought at first it was a light rain effect, but when I saw the same effect later in a spot it obviously wasn’t meant to be, it confirmed that it was a printing mistake. I don’t know how many copies were affected by this, but you should skim your issue before purchasing.

I have pages that are half blank and have cuts like sharks teeth through half a blank page near the middle of the book.

I’ll be checking more books tomorrow. I don’t think we’re the only ones who got bum pages. No fault of the comic book shop luckily.
