The Comic Community Comes Together for AFAN AIDS Walk 2012!
Stephanie Payne of Very Awesome Girls Into Nerdy Activities (V.A.G.I.N.A.) has spearheaded a campaign to engage all forms of Geek in the fight against AIDS. We at Cosmic Comics! are very proud to be part of this campaign. This Las Vegas coalition of nerds is called “The Neon Lanterns” and they even have their own team page where you can donate and help out your local community.
You might be asking yourself, “What is AFAN?” Aid For Aids of Nevada (AFAN) is a Nevada based organization working to reduce HIV infection through prevention education and to eliminate fear, prejudice, and the stigma associated with the disease.
Every Spring Las Vegas unifies in the fight against HIV and AIDS. Gearing up for the AIDS Walk 2012 at UNLV this year.
