The Terminator Saga Continues with Emilia Clarke!
Paramount Pictures has confirmed that the lovely Emilia Clarke (of Game of Thrones fame) has been cast to play Sarah Connor in a new trilogy of Terminator Films. Rumored to be titled Terminator: Genesis, the film is set for June, 2015 release.
Not that this should be a problem for Emilia. She’s already shown her ability to captivate the screen with her performance in HBO’s Game of Thrones series. I’m hoping she will bring a similar intensity to the upcoming role (no gentle hearts to be seen in the future of this film). I’m sure she’ll be taking some cues from her equally bad-ass Game of Thrones co-star Lena Headey, who dipped her feet into the saga with the t.v. series Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. Health willing, of course, as Emilia Clarke was rumored to have suffered an aneurism this October.
Also confirmed for the stand-alone trilogy is Arnold Schwarzenegger, who will reprise his role as Robo Gramps — I mean The Terminator. There should be no need to remind you that the man was born in 1947, making him 37 when the original Terminator movie was released in 1984.
I’m looking forward to seeing a trailer; what kind of special effects are going on, how does the costuming look, but mostly due to my desire to ogle Ms. Clarke. Aside from the obvious Game of Thrones, Season Naked that we have all paused for extended periods of time – she is a stunningly beautiful woman who I will gladly fan-girl over for a very long time. I’m pushing for her success because she is fantastic, and I also want to see more British women rising to stardom in their mid-twenties to stand beside Emma Watson as leading ladies. My soul cries for more Jane Austen extended t.v. mini-series to be filmed with these beautiful ladies. Keira Knightley, you can come too. But only on the condition that you bring Matthew MacFayden with you.
