Las Vegas Heroclix
Royal Rumble 2016 Champion
On January 23rd, the annual Las Vegas Heroclix Royal Rumble was held at Cosmic Comics. A Team Vegas tradition, the event is inspired by the WWE Royal Rumble pay-per-view. Congratulations to Alex Pereda, winner of the 2016 Heroclix Royal Rumble!
Alex entered the event at number TWO and outlasted eleven other players, including some Mick Foley/Cactus Jack/Dude Love entrants, to claim his Royal Rumble victory. Alex’s figure of choice for the Rumble was the Lord of the Dark Dimension, Dormammu! From the Marvel Mystical Monthly OP kit.
In the end, it came down to Alex versus Kevin Gutierrez running Justice League Trinity War Martian Manhunter. Manhunter had been RKO’ing figures all Rumble long. Alex took him out with a critical hit from the top rope to deal six penetrating damage! All six damage was needed to KO Martian Manhunter and seal Alex’s victory.
For winning the Royal Rumble, Alex claimed the Heroclix World Heavyweight Championship Belt. The Royal Rumble 2016 Champion will next defend his belt on Wrestlemania weekend at Cosmic Comics.
Alex is a veteran Heroclix player with numerous top placings in Realms Open Championship (ROC) events and WizKids Open (WKO) events. He is also a host of the ClixTV Heroclix podcast. You can follow Alex on Twitter @ImperiusMex for all his gaming and life musings.
