Space Punisher #1 Review
“In space, no one can hear you die!”
Slogan please:
One man’s quest for VENGEANCE across a galaxy different than our own!
Have you ever wanted the Punisher to fight intergalactic crime across the galaxy with a robot sidekick and super cool future gadgets? No? Well too bad because Space Punisher #1 from Marvel is in your face! My first sentence really summarizes the whole book, Frank Castle is in the Orion Quadrant hunting down the Six-Fingered Hand, an intergalactic mafia. Frank has his own skull shaped ship, a cliche robot sidekick named Marie, and plenty of heavy duty weaponry perfectly fit for the punish-man himself. This 4 part series hints at ol’Frank coming to blows with Doc Ock, the Green Goblin, and even the Red Skull, so I would expect plenty of particle disintegrations.
Space Punisher #1 written by Frank Tieri as a campy sci-fi parody. Frank Castle takes on the over enthusiastic space commander title pretty well, a role the Punisher hasn’t taken on often. The art by Mark Texeira is painted on the pages just as you’ed see the images on the silver screen. You have to take this book as it is, paying homage to the classic sci-fi films of the 60’s and 70’s. Some of the enemies may be familiar, but this is a Punisher you haven’t seen before.
