Part One of Six
The massive event I think every Marvel fan has been waiting for is finally here, and it’s a doozy. So giant that it encompasses essentially the entire Marvel galaxies. Nothing is safe, nothing is sacred, and Thanos has big plans for Earth’s mighty Avengers.
Let’s just start and point out that this $5 book is massive, I mean it’s a hefty read, but well worth it. Broken up into many little chapters, Infinity #1 travels all over different Marvel galaxies tying in and showing you just how intricate Thanos’ plans are. A lot of the chapters are epic, I mean galaxy ending, planet shredding epic. So utterly impressed with the first books storytelling abilities.
I spent a short while in the beginning of the book trying to figure out how certain characters played into the story, but in Infinity, much like Game of Thrones, no character is safe, so I later found myself just enjoying the story as a well written sci-fi thriller. Jonathan Hickman has written a fantastic first book, and his team are no slouches either, filling each page with great details and vibrant colors. Can’t say enough good things about this book.
Infinity is an “event”, a great description of just how massive this piece of Marvel craftsmanship is. And there’s a ton of great variants including a hilarious Deadpool Grumpy Cat variant and the all important Skottie Young baby variant.
