“Wanted”
This week Marvel NOW! brings you an X-Force book, and to not get it confused with January’s Uncanny X-Force, they added Cable to the title. Pretty sneaky them guys there.
If you’ve been reading Marvel at all, you know there was some kind of battle royale between the Avengers and X-Men, some girl named Hope tried to contain the Phoenix, kind of stopped it, but also ended up fertilizing the whole world with mutant seed. Que stage left, Marvel NOW!
The Avengers now have a new team, one being led by Havok, brother to Hope, and that Hope is the daughter to Cable, so this makes for one f*cked up family reunion. Cable and his rag tag group of hoodlums aren’t afraid to snap some necks and make some waves. If you’ve been reading the All-New X-Men (which you should be!) you’d be wondering where Colossus is, well he’s with Cable, respecting no authority whatsoever.
Besides the blatant disregard for any authority or human life, Cable and X-Force #1 didn’t blow me away as I had hoped it would. Maybe I just had this comic hard on for Cable, and when he didn’t perform as I’d anticipated, I lost it. Marvel is pumping out new books every week, and I think this one wont hold an aggressive fan base.
