Winter World #1 review
Doing the review for Winter World #1 was one of the easier comic book pieces I’ve had to write recently, mainly because the premise is like so many other post apocalyptic tales of despair.
Winter World #1 follows Scully and his teenage sidekick Wynn as they try to survive the frozen desolate wasteland that Earth has become. But you could have read that from its inside cover. Seriously, that’s it.
I’ll have fun with this a bit and compare it to a much more frozen Water World with a lighter budget, and The Road Warrior with less dust and more Aussie accents because, why not? Though, there’s nothing that says Scully isn’t an Ozzie or Kiwi, and this just insured you’ll now read his dialogue with the according accent I’ve implanted in your brain just now.
This isn’t the first time Winter World has been in print, back in 2011 Chuck Dixon dabbled in this frozen world and it can be found in trade form at Cosmic Comics. There’s also rumors of a movie in the works, though the internet seems to keep this hidden past the first three pages of Google. Might as well be a frozen world past page three, am I right? So maybe you should get ahead of the game and start reading Winter World #1 now, while it’s summer and everything.
