Legenderry. A Steampunk Adventure

Before I jump into why you would want to read Legenderry: A Steampunk Adventure, let me just state that this book is very, very steampunk. Very steampunk, almost Legen…wait for it…Derry.

legenderry, legenderry a steampunk adventure, comic book reviewYou had to know that was coming. Ok, back to the review at hand, I don’t like steampunk. I actually think it’s pretty dumb, and I’m a nerd. I like toys, cartoons, Star Wars, video games, and cosplay, and even I think steampunk is lame. But let’s look past how the people in Legenderry talk and look, and delve deeply into how well Bill Willingham and Sergio Davila salvage whats left of this book.

Vampirella in a book? I’m listening. She’s in the forefront of this book, and a nice touch if you ask me. The stupid goggles don’t bother me so much when the heads they’re attached to are being ripped off. I could almost commend Willingham for writing a book I’d actually read if there wasn’t so much gawdamn steampunk. The fashion, the narrator, and the conversation just annoyed me. I didn’t know I disliked steampunk that much until I read Legenderry.

There is a good point though, people who like steampunk will love Legenderry. Hell, I’ll bet they’ll call it a “distinguishable masterpiece sir.” Or whatever non sensible sentence they could come up with.
