Outcast #1. The Power of Kirkman Compels you.

Robert Kirkman escapes the zombie scene and tackles a much more curious and unseen presence.

How can I describe Outcast #1 from Robert Kirkman and Paul Azaceta? I imagine Marty McFly would say its “heavy, doc”, Jack Burton would probably ask “are you out of your mind, wang?”, and Bill & Ted would just let out a resounding “whooooa”. I sat right smack dab in the middle of the popular quotes to describe this book, but while reading it, I really agreed with Marty the most,  Outcast #1 IS heavy.

outcast #1,review,image comics, cosmic comicsOutcast #1 is heavy, dark, and down right frightening. I’m pretty sure I felt the exact same way I felt when I first read Kirkman’s The Walking Dead for the first time. It’s scary without being an actual horror book. I dare anyone wanting to read it to pass up any synopsis describing what the book is actual about and go into it cold turkey. I had no idea what the book was even about and came out asking myself, “what the eff did I just read?”.

Robert Kirkman has another dark horse on his hands again. The question isn’t whether Outcast is any good, the question is at what heights it’s going to take off to.
