December's Best of Marel NOW! 2016 I'm back with all those new Marvel NOW! recommendations! As the self proclaimed "Marvel" guy for Cosmic Comics! I've brought it upon myself to give you some of my favorites of the newest Marvel NOW! releases. Last month I dropped November's best of Marvel NOW! 2016 so naturally as December comes to an end I had to give you December's best of … [Read more...]
November’s Best of Marvel NOW! 2016
November's Best of Marvel NOW! 2016 There's a trend happening that I've been hearing too often lately in my local comic shop, Cosmic Comics! in Las Vegas, and it centers around Marvel. Many readers just aren't interested in what Marvel is dishing out right now, and since I'm kind of the "Marvel" reader there I found this as odd as it was compelling since I'm currently reading … [Read more...]
Deadly Hands of Kung Fu #1. Why So Serious?
Deadly Hands of Kung Fu #1 review Marvel Comics is taking out all of the stops bringing back classic, vintage, and forgotten characters of yesteryear. Unfortunately Shang-Chi, a character I sadly have never heard of, doesn't receive the comeback treatment in Deadly Hands of Kung Fu #1 I assume he deserves. Elektra #1. Sign this Contract.
Elektra #1 review Did you know Elektra #1 dropped this week? Maybe? Probably not, the thing is, you should have picked it up. Elektra #1 is the best book out this week that you're not reading. All-New Ghost Rider #1 escalates quickly
All-New Ghost Rider #1 review Marvel NOW! attempts to revitalize the most curious burning skull faced devil rider that's ever graced the pages of a Marvel comic book in All-New Ghost Rider #1. Writer Felipe Smith and artist Tradd Moore want you to read this book asking if Ghost Rider is "Good or Evil" or "Angel or Demon". Either way, with a tag line like "Let's Ride" gracing … [Read more...]
Black Widow #1. Phil. Effing. Noto.
Black Widow #1 review What more can be said than the title of this review. Phil f..king Noto. Holy gawd does that man slay it. I was looking at every page, engaged in every scene, taken back by the contrasting colors chosen, just in awe at what I was seeing. With all that being said, everyone knows a book is a team effort, so more mad props go to Nathan Henry Edmondson who … [Read more...]
Galactus Hungers
Age of Ultron: Aftermath Hunger #1 Brian Michael Bendis and Marvel Comics love their post conflict story arcs. Avengers vs X-Men had theirs, which is still ongoing, and off in the distant universe Age of Ultron is now getting one. Hunger isn't as hard hitting as both the stories listed above, but then again, post books rarely are. I saw it more as a lessons learned … [Read more...]
